Limerick gardai seek information following city centre assault

Gardai at Henry Street are investigating the incident

GARDAI at Henry Street are appealing for information after a young man was assaulted in the city centre.

According to gardai the victim – a 20-year-old man – was walking at Upper Denmark Street at around 10pm last Thursday when he was set upon by another male.

“This is a busy area and on a Thursday night there would be a lot of people about,” said a garda spokesperson.

It's understood the young man did not sustained any serious injuries.

Anyone who was in the area or who witnessed the incident is asked to contact gardai at Henry Street at (061) 212400.
