Gardai appeal for dashcam footage following dangerous driving incident

The suspect vehicle drove along the N18 dual carriageway towards Setright's Cross on the incorrect side of the dual carriageway against oncoming traffic

LIMERICK gardai are appealing for dashcam footage following a dangerous driving incident.

Sergeant Michelle O'Halloran, Crime Prevention Officer at Henry Street Garda Station said:

"On the evening of the 31st of January at approximately quarter to nine, Gardaí from Limerick Divisional Roads Policing Unit observed a blue Ford Mondeo, registration 152 LS, driving at speed along the Ennis Road towards Limerick City. At Union Cross the suspect vehicle turned right onto Shelbourne Rd. Lower and continued onto the Condell Rd."

Sgt O'Halloran continued: "From there the vehicle travelled at speed (outbound) towards Clonmacken Roundabout, Coonagh Roundabout and Clondrinagh Roundabout out past the Two Mile Inn and through the Cratloemoyle Roundabout. From there the suspect vehicle drove up the exit slip road (against oncoming traffic) and joined the N18 at junction 4 before continuing to drive along the N18 dual carriageway towards Setright's Cross on the incorrect side of the dual carriageway against oncoming traffic."

The gardai are asking any motorists who may have been in the area between 8.40pm and 8.50pm and observed the vehicle and have dashcam footage to contact Gardaí at Henry Street Garda Station on 061 212400.
