GARDAÍ in Limerick are investigating two separate thefts reported in the city centre.

Sergeant Michael Gallagher, Community Policing at Mayorstone Garda Station said:

"On 2nd December 2025, at an apartment complex on Clare Street, a male reported that his black and orange electric scooter was stolen. He had parked it in the hallway of the building at around 7pm, and when he checked it a little over two hours later, it was gone.

"Gardaí at Henry Street are investigating and we’re appealing to anyone who may have seen something or has any information to contact us.

Sgt Gallagher reminded homeowners and shoppers to be vigilant, issuing the following advice:

Always lock your vehicle, even if you’re only stepping away for a short time.

Never leave valuables, gifts or shopping bags visible inside.

Park in well-lit, secure areas where possible.

Do not leave tools, electronics or documents inside unattended vehicles.

These basic steps can prevent a lot of opportunistic theft.
