GARDAI are appealing for witnesses to traffic collisions in Garryowen and Bruree.
Sergeant Michelle O'Halloran, Crime Prevention Officer of Henry Street Garda Station said:
"Gardaí are investigating a road traffic accident which occurred on Garryowen Road, Garryowen, at approximately 7.55am on Wednesday, the 15th of October 2025."
"In this incident, a car struck a male cyclist, and unfortunately, the driver of the vehicle left the scene. An ambulance was called and the injured cyclist was taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment."

Sgt O'Halloran continued: "This area would have been quite busy at that time of the morning with people heading to work and school, so Gardaí believe there may be several potential witnesses. We are asking anyone who may have seen the collision or any motorist with dash cam footage to please contact Gardaí at Henry Street Garda Station on 061 212400."
"Even the smallest piece of information or dash cam footage could be vital in identifying the vehicle involved.
There was also another appeal following a collision in the Bruree area last week.
Sgt O'Halloran stated: "Gardaí in Kilmallock are investigating a two-car collision that took place on Friday, the 24th of October 2025, at around 12 noon, on the N20 at Knockaunavoddig, Bruree, which is the main Limerick to Cork road."
"It appears that an oncoming car allegedly overtook a line of traffic travelling from Charleville towards O’Rourke’s Cross and Limerick. In order to avoid a head-on collision, traffic coming from the opposite direction had to brake suddenly, resulting in a collision between two vehicles."
The local crime prevention officer added: "The vehicle that performed the overtaking manoeuvre, is believed to be a silver
saloon style car, which left the scene. Gardaí are now seeking witnesses to that vehicle or to the collision itself. A passenger from one of the vehicles was taken to University Hospital Limerick with minor injuries."
Sgt O'Halloran concluded: "This stretch of road is always busy, especially around the bank holiday weekend, so we are appealing for anyone who may have dash cam footage or who observed the incident to contact Kilmallock Garda Station on 063 98018."
