A WOMAN has appeared in court accused of assaulting a garda and damaging a patrol car during an incident in Kilmallock earlier this month.
Shauna Moore, aged 31, who has an address at Orr Street, Kilmallock also faces a number of charges under the Public Order Act arising from the incident which occurred on October 10.
She is also charged with failing to provide information to gardaí regarding an unrelated incident, which is under investigation.
Inspector Barry Manton told Kilmallock court the defendant first appeared before a special court sitting in Ennis after she was arrested and charged and that the Director of Public Prosecutions has consented to summary disposal of the case, meaning it can be dealt with in the district court, rather than the circuit court.

Having noted the update from Insp Manton, Solicitor Julianne Kiely sought a disclosure order which, the court heard, would take "at least eight weeks" to comply with.
Judge Patricia Harney granted the application and she adjourned the matter to January 13, 2026.
The defendant, who was assigned legal aid, was remanded on continuing bail pending her next court appearance.
No information regarding the details of the incident were given during the brief court hearing.
