Gardai are investigating the theft of power tools from a van in Raheen
GARDAI are investigating the theft of high-value power tools from a van in a Limerick suburb.
“On Tuesday, June 17, between 2pm and 3.15pm, a van parked on Avenmore Road, Raheen was broken into. The intruder popped the lock and stole a number of high-value power tools. Unfortunately, the owner only realised the theft after arriving home,” outlined Sergeant Michelle O’Halloran, crime prevention officer, at Henry Street garda station.
Sgt O’Halloran offered advice for van owners and tradespersons. “I encourage van owners to avoid leaving tools in vehicles when possible. If tools must be stored in the van, consider using a secure tool safe or cage inside.
The local crime prevention officer continued: "Park in well-lit, busy areas, and try to position doors against a wall or another vehicle to limit access. We also recommend marking tools with your name or business details to deter resale and aid recovery.”
