Threatening to kill a garda at Limerick Courthouse

Sentencing of the accused was adjourned until a future date

A MAN has pleaded guilty to threatening to kill a garda at Limerick Courthouse.

Shane Ryan Casey, aged 30, of Hyde Road, Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick city affirmed a guilty plea in Limerick Circuit Criminal Court.

Mr Ryan Casey said “guilty” from the dock when the court registrar put it to Mr Casey that he threatened to kill Garda Sean O’Connor at Limerick Courthouse, Mulgrave Street on February 21, 2024.

The court did not hear the nature of the threat during the short procedural matter. Judge Colin Daly, presiding, adjourned sentencing until a future date.

Mr Casey was remanded in continuing custody.
