BREAKING: Man to appear in court in relation to fatal hit-and-run in Rathkeale

A MAN is due to appear in court this Christmas Eve after being charged in connection with a hit-and-run incident in Rathkeale on Saturday.

The man, aged in his 40s, is due to appear before a special sitting of Limerick District Court at 7pm this Tuesday in relation to the incident which resulted in the death of mother-of-one, Marguerita Sheridan from Rathkeale.

The man had been detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a garda station in County Limerick having been arrested on Monday.

A van believed to have been involved in the serious incident was also recovered and will now be subject to a technical examination.

Gardaí continue to appeal for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were in the Rathkeale area in Co. Limerick between 11:30am and 1:00pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

Investigations are ongoing.
