LIMERICK'S Enable Ireland shop is asking locals to join a nationwide movement to ‘break up with your stuff’ and donate pre-loved items to support vital services for people with disabilities.
This month, Enable Ireland's shop located at Honan’s Quay is putting a twist on the Valentine's theme. From February 14 to February 21, Enable Ireland shops across Ireland are aiming to create Ireland’s biggest breakup. They are encouraging the public to declutter their homes.
All high-quality items donated will support Enable Ireland, which provides services to over 13,000 children and adults with disabilities. All the profits from items donated to Enable Ireland support disability services.
Oonagh O’Connor, Commercial Manager at Enable Ireland, said:

"We all have items we know we’ve been holding onto for far too long. Clothes, accessories, and other items that are still in great condition but, if we’re honest, we know we’ll never use again. That’s why we’re asking the public to break up with them this Valentine's!"
"Go through your wardrobes, kitchen presses, and chest of drawers. What may no longer have use for you could be exactly what someone else is looking for. We’ll help your donations find the perfect match, and you’ll help raise funds to benefit our vital services.”
Enable Ireland loves to accept donations of clean, good-quality clothes, shoes, handbags, and accessories. They also accept towels, linens, homeware, and glassware. As well as collectables, books, loose toys and unwanted gifts. Unfortunately, the charity cannot accept donations of electrical items, dirty or soiled items, broken items, mattresses, duvets or pillows. This is due to the high cost of disposal.
Enable Ireland are also offering an extra incentive. Donors will receive €5 off when they spend over €25 in store.
