THE front of a house in Limerick city was damaged in the early hours of this Thursday morning after a suspected arson attack.

A car was set alight outside the house in Cathedral Court, Pennywell, causing damage to the premises.

“There were children inside and thank God no one was injured, people in neighbouring houses had to be evacuated and stay elsewhere. This was a terrible thing to do,” said a resident on the street, who did not wish to be named.

Gardai are investigating the cause of the incident.
