My week with Celia Holman Lee: Castles, catwalks, and celebrations

LIFE has been anything but dull lately, with two standout events of the year happening within just two weeks, and the long-awaited announcement of my book!

What an adrenaline rush to be able to finally share with my followers that I am releasing a pictorial autobiography, Glamour & Grit, next year to mark my 75th birthday and 60 years in the fashion industry.

I am over the moon with the outpouring of support I have received, and want to take the opportunity to thank all of you who have backed me all these years.

Two events that have made these past few weeks a whirlwind of wonder, adding to the feeling of being on cloud nine, were the Holman Lee website relaunch party and our Couture in the Castle fashion show.

First to the Savoy, where we dined and dazzled for our website relaunch party. I may not be an expert with websites, which is why my wonderful daughter-in-law Asta Lee took care of it, but I do know a soirée worth dusting off the good pearls for.

The hotel was a glittering wonderland, all chandeliers and Christmas decorations, as we toasted to our models and their bright future.

Then Saturday arrived, and with it, the pièce de résistance - Couture in the Castle at King John’s Castle. What a spectacle!

As MC, I introduced models swanning about in satin, sequins and an array of enchanting patterns - so mesmerising, I half-expected a knight in shining armour to trot in on horseback! The turnout was exceptional, and thankfully, Storm Darragh didn’t rain on our parade.

Crowds enjoyed treats and amazing beauty items in their Boots gift bags, kindly sponsored by Boots Limerick.

So there you have it: two dazzling events for the books.

And with books in mind, you will be able to preorder Glamour & Grit next June, which I can’t wait to share with you all.
