Crucial Energia All-Ireland League ties await Limerick sides ahead of Round 15 fixtures

ALL seven Limerick sides are in Energia All-Ireland League Round 15 action this weekend as the regular season reaches its business end.

In Division 1A, Young Munster will be looking to bounce back when they travel to the capital to face Lansdowne at the Aviva Stadium back pitch, kick-off is at 2.30pm.

'The Cookies' will be looking to get back to winning way following last weekend's narrow 19-15 loss to Old Belvedere at Ollie Cambpell Park, a resul that dents their top four play-off hopes.

Tries from Sane O'Leary and Jake O'Riordan were not enough to give Young Munster a vital win.

The result puts Munsters' down to sixth in the Division 1A table in the race to secure top four play-off place in the league.

In Division 1B, Garryowen will be looking to build on last weekend's impressive 24-19 win over table-toppers Old Wesley in Energia Park, Donnybrook.

The Dooradoyle side produced a fine second half display to secure a vital five-point win. The result moves Garryowen to fifth place in the 1B table ahead of Saturday's clash, which is  a home tie against Blackrock College in Dooradoyle at 2.30pm.

In Division 2A, Shannon will be looking to bounce back from last weekend's defeat to Ballymena at Eaton Park when returning to action this weekend.

The contest was all-square at the interval, but the home side pushed ahead in the second half to secure the victory, eventually recording a 16-10 success.

The loss keeps Shannon third in the 2A table and next up for the ‘Parish side’ is a home tie against Dungannon at Thomond Park's back pitch on Saturday at 2.30pm.

Also in Division 2A, Old Crescent were defeated in a high-scoring affair by Galway Corinthians at Corinthian Park.It was a game that the hosts were in control of for the majority of the contest.

The result leaves relegation-threatened Old Crescent sitting ninth in the 2A table ahead of Saturday's fixture with MU Barnhall at Takumi Park, 2.30pm.

In Division 2B, UL Bohemians secured a high-scoring 35-28 point win over Clogher Valley at the University of Limerick last weekend.

Their bonus point wins keeps UL-Bohs' sitting third in the table ahead of next weekend's  trip to Hatrick Park to face Rainey RFC.

In Division 2C, Thomond secured a gritty three-point win in Belfast when they saw off the challenge of the Belfast Harlequins on a scoreline of 15-12 in Deramore Park. 

The result keeps Thomond sitting in third position in the 2C table. ahead of Saturday's home clash with Malahide at Liam Fitzgerald Park at 2.30pm. 

Also in Division 2C, Bruff were well beaten by Dolphin at Virgin Media Park.

The Limerick side fell to a 19-point defeat which leaves them in sixth position, on 36 points, one point behind Dolphin, heading into a home fixture with Ballyclare at Kilballyowen Park on Saturday at 2.30pm.
