Home comforts for Shannon and Garryowen

The draw for the 2025/26 Bank Of Ireland Munster Senior Challenge Cup took place on Thursday evening in Cork’s Virgin Media Park.

The semi-finals of this season’s Munster Senior Challenge Cup will take place on February 14.

Cork Constitution will travel to Coonagh to face Shannon at 2:30pm.

While Garryowen will welcome Highfield to Dooradoyle also kicking off at 2:30pm.

The semi-finals of the Cyril Fitzgerald Munster Senior Plate were also drawn last night.

Clonmel will host Thomond in Clonmel on February 14 while Bruff will make the trip to Takumi Park to face Old Crescent.

Speaking at the event Munster Branch president, Sean Loftus, said: “It is my pleasure to officially launch the Bank of Ireland Munster Senior and Junior Cup competitions.

“These tournaments are a proud tradition in our province in showcasing the passion, skill and commitment that has defined Munster Rugby for over 100 years.

“For generations these competitions have been the foundation of our game, producing unforgettable rivalries and players who have gone on to represent Munster, Ireland and of course the British and Irish Lions.

“I want to thank our clubs, volunteers and coaches for their tireless work and especially our sponsors Bank of Ireland as without sponsors none of this is possible. Thank you for your continued support of these competitions. Because of their support rugby remains strong in every corner of Munster.

“To the players this is your moment. Play with pride and integrity as every match is a chance to write your own chapter in Munster Rugby’s history.

“I want to wish all the teams the very best for the season ahead.”

Bank of Ireland representative, Gillian Mangan, was also in attendance on the day and spoke fondly about the company’s continued support of the province.

“I am delighted to be here to represent Bank of Ireland at the launch of the Munster Senior Challenge and Munster Junior Cup this evening .

“Bank of Ireland has a really strong presence across the province and we are hugely committed to supporting the clubs and communities that we serve every day.

“Through our partnership with Munster Rugby, we not only support the men’s and women’s squads, but we also enhance the development of rugby at the grassroots level.

“The club game is the life blood of rugby in the province, and locally here in Cork, and Bank of Ireland is delighted to be connected to the values and traditions that each and every club here this evening demonstrates.

“We look forward to another competitive year and exciting competition and would like to wish every senior and junior club here this evening every success in this coming season.”
