Limerick second-row Evan O'Connell will captain Munster 'A' against Leinster 'A' in Dublin on Saturday
THE Munster 'A' side has been named for Saturday’s Interprovincial Series opener against Leinster A at Ollie Campbell Park, Old Belvedere RFC at 12noon.
There have been 61 appearances for senior and Academy players for their clubs in the Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Challenge Cup and All-Ireland League in the early weeks of the season.
Limerick man Evan O'Connell captains the side and is one of eight senior players included along with Shay McCarthy, Fionn Gibbons, Tony Butler, Mark Donnelly, Kieran Ryan, Conor Ryan and Roman Salanoa.
Salanoa made his return after a long-term injury for Nenagh Ormond last weekend and is included among the replacements.
Eleven Academy players have been named in the matchday squad. Ben O'Connor, Eoghan Smyth, Gene O'Leary Kareem, Jake O'Riordan, Max Clein, Oisín Minogue and Luke Murphy all start with Danny Sheahan, George Hadden, Darragh McSweeney and Dylan Hicks among the replacements.
Garryowen flanker Finn McCall starts the clash. Clubmate Johnny Byrne, UCC pair Kamil Nowak and Jed O'Dwyer, Shannon's Alex Lautsou and Young Munster's John Poland are also included.
