Limerick prop signs contract extension with Munster Rugby

THE Munster Rugby squad is continuing preparations at the High Performance Centre at UL ahead of our URC Round 11 clash against Scarlets at Thomond Park on Saturday, February 15, 7.35pm kick-off.

In player news, Young Munster RFC prop Conor Bartley, who joined the province on a short-term contract in November, has signed an extension that will keep him at the province until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Garryowen FC centre Bryan Fitzgerald has completed his time at the province after a six-month spell that included one try in two URC appearances. 

South African prop Dian Bleuler returned to the Sharks last month after a very successful loan spell at Munster.

Leinster Academy centre Ben Brownlee is currently training with the Munster squad at the HPC on a short-term basis.

Meanwhile, Oli Jager, Niall Scannell and Ethan Coughlan have all completed the return-to-play protocols after undergoing HIAs last month.

Centre Tom Farrell has also recovered after sustaining a knee laceration against Dragons.

Alex Nankivell, Seán O’Brien, Liam Coombes and Academy centre Fionn Gibbons are unavailable due to injury with Academy centre Gene O’Leary Kareem in Ireland U20s camp.

Continuing to rehab: Mike Haley (ankle), Dave Kilcoyne (thigh), Alex Nankivell (hamstring), Thaakir Abrahams (shoulder), Craig Casey (knee), Jean Kleyn (thigh), Liam Coombes (chest), Seán O’Brien (leg), Jeremy Loughman (hip), Josh Wycherley (neck), Patrick Campbell (shoulder), Cian Hurley (knee), Edwin Edogbo (Achilles), Roman Salanoa (knee).
