THERE were just two Limerick wins on a day of mixed fortunes for local All-Ireland League clubs in round seven action on Saturday.

In Division 1A, Young Munster picked up two bonus points in a 24-31 defeat to City of Armagh at Clifford Park.

The fourth loss of the campaign sees Young Munster sit in sixth-placed in the 1A table, three points off the top four play-off places.

Three-try hooker Stephen McLoughlin returned to captain the Greenfields side, who gave another start to recent Munster senior debutant Evan O’Connell in the engine room.

Munsters', who fell 10 points in arrears in the opening half, had a hat-trick of tries from winger Hubert Gilvarry. Scrum-half Jake O'Riordan also dotted down in the opening half for the home side who collected a try bonus point as well as a losing bonus point. Argentinian out-half Julian Lesczynski added two conversions.

Also in the top flight, Garryowen suffered a 26-42 defeat away to Terenure College at Lakelands Park.

The 'Light Blues' prop up the 1A table and sit in the relegation zone following their sixth defeat in seven AIL fixtures this season. The Dooradoyle side did pick up a try bonus point in Saturday's game, scoring four tries.

The three Wood brothers started an All-Ireland League game together for the first time for the Dooradoyle side, with eldest brother Alex on the right wing, and Ireland Under-18 Schools out-half Tom continuing at half-back. Munster’s Brian Gleeson also lined out at number 8.

Garryowen trailed 12-22 to 'Nure in Dublin after the opening 40, the visitors' first half points coming courtesy of tries from Colm Quilligan and Brian Gleeson, with Kelvin Langan adding a conversion.

After the home side added a bonus point try after the restart, Garryowen hit back when awarded a penalty try to leave 10 points between the sides, 29-19.

Garryowen drew within six points at 32-26, thanks to a Finn McCall try, which was converted by Langan. However, Terenure regained their grip on the contest adding 10 unanswered points to seal victory.

In Division 1B, Shannon suffered a heavy 15-42 defeat at home to high-flying Nenagh Ormond on the main pitch at Thomond Park.

The second-placed Tipperary side, who led 13-3 at half-time, notched five tries in all, including a brace for Patrick Scully, while  Conor McMahon, Craig Hannon and Charlie O’Doherty also dotted down.

Shannon, who are level on points with ninth-placed Queens, managed tries through Eoghan Clarke and Stephen Kiely.

Meanwhile, in Division 2A, Old Crescent secured a precious 29-24 bonus point victory over Ballymena at Takumi Park.

Old Crescent's third win of the League season has seen the Rosbrien side sit in seventh place in the table, four points off fourth spot.

Old Crescent trailed their visitors 15-17 at half-time. Jonathan Byrne and Dean O'Grady scored first half tries for Crescent, while out-half Ronan McKenna added a penalty goal and conversion.

A Timmy Duggan try on the hour mark had the Limerick side in front, while Yasin Browne added the bonus point try for the home side.

In Division 2B, UL-Bohemian suffered a 30-21 defeat away to Malone.

The fifth-placed Red, Red Robins, who have recorded four wins to date, are four points off the top four places.

UL-Bohs trailed 6-13 at half-time at Gibson Park. The Annacotty side had tries from Killian Dineen and Paul Clancy, while Oisin Fagan added three penalties and a conversion.

In Division 2C, there was a first win of the campaign for Bruff who recorded a much-needed 22-8 bonus point victory away to bottom side Tullamore in Co Offaly.

Bruff's victory has moved the eighth-placed Kilballyowen Park side out of the relegation play-off places.

The South Limerick side scored four tries in Saturday's victory from Cillian Rea, Craig Carew, Shane Duggan and John Bateman.  Ethan Anderson converted one of the tries.
