My Week: Butterfly luncheon spreads its wings

My Week: Butterfly luncheon spreads its wings

I love showcasing fashion from local Limerick stores on my slot on Today with Maura and Daithi

I THOROUGHLY enjoyed the Butterfly Ladies Luncheon which took place last Friday at the Savoy Hotel in Limerick. Members of the board of the Mid- Western Cancer Foundation were all in attendance as were some of Limerick's top fashionistas. It was the first Butterfly Ladies Luncheon which I anticipate will be one of Limerick’s top annual social events.

I was part of the launch of the first Butterfly Ball many years ago in the Strand Hotel Limerick which was a success from its inception. I remember the atmosphere on the night was electric as we introduced Limerick's international fashion designer Synan O’Mahony among others who showcased their collections on the night.

The Butterfly Ladies Luncheon had some wonderful speakers including, Edel Gupta, Dr Lorraine Walsh and Professor Rajnish Gupta.

It is always such a pleasure to support and attend the Mid-West Cancer Foundation events, which are mainly organised by the powerhouse that is Lisa Tracey.

The Savoy Hotel pulled out all the stops and served a delicious four course meal and the fabulous Catriona Tiernan who hosted the event made sure that everything ran smoothly.

Congratulations to everyone involved.

Crescent showcase

I ALWAYS enjoy featuring stores from Limerick city and the Crescent Shopping Centre on the RTE Today Show with Maura and Daithi.

The Crescent Shopping Centre took centre stage on a recent slot with their array of summer looks for every occasion. What I enjoyed about showing the Crescent SC fashions was the variety of looks and stores that I was able to present to the nation, as the Crescent Shopping Centre is one of the biggest centres in the country and we are lucky to have it on our doorstep.
