My Week: Putting ‘focus’ on homelessness

AT this time of year I think it is so important that we all make a point of reminding ourselves how fortunate we are in light of the homeless crisis in our country.

I hope you will all support Focus Ireland’s 20th Anniversary Thanksgiving Choral Concert at St Mary’s Cathedral on Thursday, November 22 from 7.30pm.

Well-known and much loved local performers will sing their hearts out in aid of Focus Ireland and all the support that has been provided to the community in Limerick over the last 20 years. There will be performances from some of my favourite singers including the popular soprano Sinead O’Brien and tenor Derek Moloney. Also performing will be Unity Gospel Choir, Mary Immaculate College, Cantette Children’s Choir, Parteen NS Choir and St Mary's NS Choir.

I am really looking forward to the event which will be hosted by the fabulous Richard Lynch and Spin South West’s popular presenter Meghann Scully. And yours truly will also be in attendance. Tickets are available for €10 from St Mary's Cathedral on the night and on Eventbrite.

Fashion slot

I HOPE you all spotted the great new set for the Ireland AM morning show on Virgin Media One. It is a super set to present the fashion segment and I really enjoy my weekly fashion slot.

It was great to meet up with Laura Woods who works on the Weekend AM show who has for the past few weeks been presenting the morning show.

I first met Laura many moons ago and felt that she had something special as a presenter and of course my colleague Ciara O’Doherty who is due her baby in the next month or so and is looking fantastic.

I absolutely love working with these two talented women.
