The style stakes at the Galway Races were the best I have seen in a long long time, very glamorous and very creative.
The hats for me on the Ladies day were the winners, I have never seen such design, variety and colour.
The gorgeous winner of the Best Dressed Lady competition at Ladies Day, was Lisa McGowan, an insurance broker and a fashion blogger from Tullamore, Co Offaly. Lisa’s dress was designed by Shauna Fay designer and herself, from their new label Strawberry & Lime.
She bagged a prize of accommodation and vouchers from the G Hotel worth €10,000.
Hats off to Garda Ciara Murphy, who won the G Hotel Best Hat Award. The judging panel included the celebrities such as Louise Duffy, who is moving to a new evening slot on Today FM, who looked extremely stylish; Bairbre Power and Melanie Morris.
I also bumped into Daithi O’Shea, who was on top form and enjoying the day at the races; I am looking forward to working with him again on RTE Today Show for Autumn season.
After the races, the G Hotel put on a great line up of entertainment, which kept the fashionistas on the dance floor into the early hours. Always one of the best days out that I really enjoy is the Ladies Day at Galway Races. Roll on next year.
