The Limerick U17 camogie team
THE Limerick U17 camogie team have reached the semi-final of the All-Ireland Development Series, an impressive all-round team display earning a 0-10 to 0-1 win over Kildare on Saturday.
The victory means the 'Treaty' will have a home tie in their next game - with a place in an All-Ireland final at stake.
Ava McDonogh scored 0-4 from play with the Granagh-Ballingarry player in top form along with free-taker Isabelle Fitzgerald of Ballybrown who added 0-3 from placed balls.
Joint captains Rebecca Carey (Granagh-Ballingarry) and Hazel Gleeson (Adare), led by example in the game, played in tricky conditions at the Éire Óg Corro Choill GAA grounds in Kildare.
The win stands as a welcome boost for Limerick underage camogie after both the U16 and minor teams missed out of their respective All-Ireland semi-finals, both knocked out at the group stage on score difference.
