Laurel Hill Secondary School have topped off an exceptional camogie year winning both Junior and Senior Division 1 Limerick Camogie titles over the last fortnight.
The county titles come after Munster and All-Ireland wins earlier this year for the school’s Junior camogie team.
On Friday, March 20th Laurel Hill Secondary School defeated Hazelwood College on a scoreline of 2-14 to 1-09 in warm and sunny conditions in Mungret.
Goals from Emma Kennedy and Rosie McCaul proved crucial with notable performances also from Martha Stanley in defence along with Kailey O’Donnell.
On Tuesday, March 24, Laurel Hill Secondary School again played Hazelwood College in very different conditions with heavy rain and strong winds in Mungret.
The South Circular Road school went into half-time two points down on a scoreline of 2-05 to 1-06. In the second half, Laurel Hill Secondary School dominated in defence with Emma O’Donnell, Kate Daly, Emily Gavin and Aoibheann Kennedy all to the fore.
Joint-captain, Sophie O’Grady, was prominent throughout the game contributing four points from play. Rosie McCaul was again chief scorer with Essie Hickey and Jane McGrath dominant in the middle of the field.
These wins round off a remarkable year for the school which marked 180 Years of education in Limerick last week.
Camogie success has also extended off the field with former pupils Liz Anna Boylan, Muireann Leahy, Carla Griffin and Orlaith Kelleher all being named as joint or vice-captains of the Limerick U-23 and Senior squads respectively for the 2026 season.
