LIMERICK complete their programme of fixtures in Division 1B of the Very National Camogie League when hosting Westmeath in their final round fixture.

Limerick will be aiming to secure their second win of the campaign. Joe Quaid's Limerick side suffered a 3-13 to 1-10 defeat to Clare in their most recent outing at Zimmer Biomet Cusack Park in Ennis on Saturday last.

The Limerick management team will be encouraged by the young side's second half display after the visitors had fallen 13 points in arrears against their high-flying hosts at half-time, 0-3 to 2-10.

Afterwards Limerick manager Joe Quaid told Leader Sport: “We were disappointed at half-time we felt we didn't hurl up to standard. We regrouped, made a few changes, put a few different plans in place and I am actually walking out of here absolutely delighted.

“I think we only conceded 1-3 to Clare in the second half. We made eight substitutions today and every one of the girls who came on made an impact which is all you are looking for. We are trying to develop a squad here, not just a XV. To get 23 players out on the pitch today to make a meaningful contribution was really, really good.

“We have another game to come against Westmeath and we will make more changes again. We said at the start of the year that this league is about developing a panel and a squad.”
