THE Limerick senior camogie side return to action this weekend. Joe Quaid's charges travel to Clare in a local derby this Saturday at 2pm in Round Four of Division 1B of the Very Camogie League.
“We've had a weekend off and are looking forward to get back out playing again. Clare have got some good results, but we are happy enough with where we are,” said Limerick senior camogie manager Joe Quaid.
Limerick recorded a victory over Down in round one. Antrim and Wexford then defeated the Shannonsiders in the last two rounds.
Quaid's side suffered a setback when Caoimhe Lyons and Aoife Nelligan stepped away from the panel due to college commitments. “It'a pity we are down the two them but it's next girl up.”
The Limerick camogie manager is hopeful both players will return to the panel for the championship. “I told them I would be in contact with them once the league is over. Hopefully we will get the two girls back.”
Championship is just around the corner for Limerick and that is Quaid's side focus now.
“Our focus now is really turning towards championship which is May 29. We've a Munster game against Tipp on April 20 as well.”
“There's a huge carrott there for ourselves, Wexford or Clare. One of the three teams will play in an All-Ireland quarter-final as a curtain raiser to one of the All-Ireland hurling semi-finals in Croke Park
