Limerick man plays crucial role in Cork's All-Ireland senior camogie success

LIMERICK man Liam Cronin was part of the Cork camogie backroom team on Sunday as the Rebels defeated Galway 1-16 to 0-16 on Sunday at Croke Park. 

Katrina Mackey goal on 36 minutes proved to be the differnce between sides. It is the first time Cork have won back to back All-Ireland titles since 2017 and 2018. 

Cronin has been coaching the Cork camogie side for the past two seasons. The Limerick native was previously involved with the Cork camogie set-up in 2020.

At the start of the year, the Ardscoil teacher was balancing his coaching duties between the Limerick minor hurling team and the Cork camogie side. 

The Cappamore native is building an impressive coaching CV having worked with the Clare senior hurlers under Gerry O'Connor and Donal Moloney and the Dublin senior hurlers under Mattie Kenny. 

Closer to home, he managed Mungret St Paul's to the Premeir Intermediate title in 2022 and has had a huge involvement with the Ardscoil Ris Harty Cup teams.
