SCIENTIFIC and pharmaceutical roles were among the most in-demand jobs in Limerick in 2025, according to a leading recruitment website.
This reflects the cluster of these industries in the city.
Among the most sought after roles locally within these fields are engineering positions in the commissioning, qualification and validation sector.

Customer support representatives and quality control analyst positions were also popular.
Christopher Paye, country director of The Stepstone Group Ireland with responsibility for the IrishJobs website has predicted a slowing growth in employment.
“Despite a slight uptick in unemployment in recent months, continued, albeit slowing growth in employment is expected over the next 12 months. As employers continue to face a tight labour market, skills shortages are likely to persist across many areas of the economy in 2026,” he predicted.
The information is based on searches of the IrishJobs website.
National findings show eight of the most in-demand professions here was in the construction sector.
“With construction topping the most highly sought after roles for three consecutive years now, it’s clear that this persistent skills shortage is having a major impact on the delivery of housing and critical infrastructure in Ireland,” warned Mr Paye.
Across the country meanwhile, the title of project manager in various sectors represented the most searched jobs.
The IrishJobs TalentBank is a CV database with more than 1.7 million job candidates.
