AN ESTIMATED 20 jobs are under threat in Limerick after it emerged DVD rental retailer Xtra-vision is to go into receivership.
All the video rental and games company’s stores are to remain open while a buyer while the receiver Ernst & Young bids to find a buyer for the business.
There are three branches of Xtra-vision in the city: one on the Ennis Road, one in Dooradoyle, and a third at the Parkway Shopping Centre.
Xtra-vision employs 1,024 people in its stores in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
It is believed the decision to place the company into receivership comes following the withdrawal of credit insurance, and a downturn in rentals.
