Limerick driver's lucky escape on icy roads following Storm Emma

The driver of the car was unhurt but understandably very shaken.

A MALE motorist had a very fortunate escape from injury when their car skidded into a ditch in Limerick this afternoon.

The accident occurred at the Pallasgreen side of Dromkeen on the N24 Limerick to Tipperary Road around 2pm.

The driver was unhurt but understandably very shaken.

The photographs show just how lucky he was.

Motorists have been asked only to drive if absolutely necessary and if they have to get behind the wheel to be extremely careful and drive slowly.

A joint statement from Limerick City and County Council, the HSE, An Garda Síochána and the Defence Forces has urged motorists to exercise “extreme caution on all Limerick roads” this Friday after Storm Emma.
