MET Éireann has issued a status red weather warning for all of Munster with blizzard-like conditions expected from early on Thursday evening.
The warning, which was issued at 11am, takes effect from 4pm on Thursday (March 1) and will remain valid until 12 midday on Friday.

“Blizzard-like conditions will develop in heavy snow and strong easterly winds on Thursday evening and will continue Thursday night and Friday morning giving significant snow drifts in many areas,” reads the warning.

Meanwhile, a status yellow alert, which was issued this Wednesday morning remains in place, with some heavy snow showers predicted across Limerick this afternoon and this evening.
