A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a woman in Limerick city earlier this week.
The suspect was arrested by detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland this Thursday.
"Investigating gardaí are aware that detectives from the PSNI Serious Crime branch have arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of murder. Detectives based at the garda incident room at Henry Street garda station (in Limerick) remain in close contact with our colleagues in the Police Service of Northern Ireland at this time," said a garda spokesperson.

The body of the deceased woman, who was aged in her later 20s, was discovered at an apartment block on the corner of Dock Road and O'Curry Street, close to the city centre, at around 1.30pm on Tuesday.
It's believed she was originally from Eastern Europe.
A post mortem was carried out on her body at University Hospital Limerick on Wednesday and technical examinations of the two separate scenes are continuing.
A full-scale murder investigation has been launched and anyone with information about what happened is asked to come forward.
