In the Domino's Men's Super League, the Limerick Celtics will be looking to bounce back when they travel to De La Salle College to face Belfast Star.
Tony Hehir's side, who secured an opening night win over Ballincollig two weeks ago, were on the receiving end of a late rally as EJ Sligo All-Stars scored a buzzer-beating jumper through Elijah Faapito to take home their first victory of the campaign on a 88-86 scoreline.
The duo of Jazere Noel and Christian Michael Williams, combined for 49 points, and drove Sligo through the pressure that came from the newly-promoted Limerick side.
The Celtics will be looking to get back on track when they face Belfast Star, but they will realise a stern test awaits them. They face a Belfast side who are full of confidence after two resounding wins to their Super League account. Tip-off on Saturday evening is at 6.30pm.
Meanwhile, the Limerick Celtics Women's side will also be looking to get back on track this weekend when they travel west to face University of Galway Mystics at Kingfishr.
Jordan Hehir's side were beaten by the Cleveland Rockets on a 61-56 scoreline on Saturday, the Celtic's failing to build on the momentum of their opening round victory over county rivals, the Limerick Sport Huskies.
The Celtics struggled to stay in the game as Rockets built a double digit lead in the first quarter. Celtics did manage to stay in contention thanks to ten points from Aoife Morrisey and Sabhbh Edwards Murphy.
Celtics, on the strength of a 14 to four run in the third quarter, driven by the excellent Katie Black assisted by Sydney Richards reduced the deficit to just two points, before three consecutive three-pointers from Rockets sealed the win.
A positive to take from the game for the Celtics is rising star Laura Buckley who took full advantage of the Celtics tighter roster playing 16 minutes.
Buckley hit six points, five rebounds and a block to add the her sisters 11 points. The Celtics face a Galway side who are 2-0 after wins over Clunetech Kilkenny Stars and Dublin Raiders. Tip-off on Sunday is at 3pm.
The Limerick Sport Eagles will travel to the capital on Saturday night to face Templeogue.
Niall McDermott's side travel to Dublin boasting a 1-1 record after an opening round win over Tipp Talons followed by a second round defeat to Moy Tolka Rovers at the UL Arena, on a scoreline of 101-88.
They face a Templeogue side who are yet to pick up a win in the opening two rounds, losing out to both Carrick Cruisers and Tipp Talons.
The Eagles will travel to TUD Tallaght hoping that they can extend Templeogue's winless start but it will be easier said than done. Tip-off in Tallaght is at 7pm on Saturday night.
The Limerick Sport Huskies will be looking to pick up their first win of the campaign when they travel to Belfast to face Cleveland Rockets.
The Huskies are 0-2 after losses to the Celtics and Clunetech Kilkenny Stars but they wil be hoping to buck that trend in Belfast on Saturday, tip-off is at 3pm in Lisburn.
