THE LIMERICK hurling and football management teams have been announced ahead of the 2026 season. John Kiely will continue as Limerick senior hurling manager next year which will see him manage the Shannonsiders for a tenth year. 

Paul Kinnerk, Liam Cronin, Alan Cunningham, Ger Barry, and John Flavin will continue their roles as part of the Limerick senior hurling backroom team. Kiely has won six Munster championships and five All-Ireland titles as manager of the Limerick senior hurlers.

Evan Loftus will continue his role as Limerick U20 hurling manager. This will be Loftus’ third year in charge of the U20s. Limerick have missed out on qualifying for the knockout stages of the Munster U20 Championship in the last two season. 

Diarmuid Mullins will replace Donal O’Grady as the county’s minor hurling manager. Mullins has previously worked as both Limerick minor and U20 hurling manager. The Mungret St Paul’s clubman won Munster titles in 2019 and 2020 with the Limerick minor hurlers.

After managing the Limerick minors for two seasons in 2019 and 2020, he moved up to take charge of the county’s U20 team. The former Laois footballer managed the U20s from 2021 to 2023, leading Limerick to the 2022 All-Ireland U20 final, where they were narrowly beaten by Kilkenny.

Jimmy Lee will go into his third year in charge of the Limerick senior footballers. 2025 was a successful year for Lee’s side, as they achieved promotion to Division 3 and were narrowly defeated by Kildare in the Tailteann Cup final. Pa Ranahan, Micheal Cahill, and Evan Talty continue their roles as part of the Limerick senior football backroom team.

Oola clubman John O’Grady will continue as U20 football manager, while former Limerick footballer Garrett Noonan was announced as the county’s new minor football manager in August.
