Her exhibition will also feature pieces inspired by topical themes.
The event is titled A Celebration of Textile Art: Patchwork and Quilting by Loretta O’Brien.
Although it’s her first solo show in Limerick, she has previously had her work on display in France and the Cork town of Youghal.
Her work has been showcased internationally and nationally - from Europe, to South Africa and the USA - as part of the Irish Patchwork Society exhibitions.
Loretta is transfixed by how Kandinsky’s bold and expressive style can be interpreted through fabric and thread.
And it is this fascination which has paved the way for the exhibition, which will run until Sunday, May 25.
The Irish Patchwork Society has around 500 members nationwide, with its branch in the Mid-West region particularly strong.
It’s public relations officer in Limerick is renowned artist Kate Hennessy, Naughton’s Place.
