Here is a list of what movies are now premiering in Irish cinemas over the Christmas and New Year period, whether you're planning on going with friends, family, your other half or by yourself!

The only question now is, will you have time to catch them all?

  • WICKED Part 1 starring Ariana Grande

WICKED is now premiering in all cinemas and it is about "the untold story of the witches of OZ" and stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Glinda as Ariana Grande.

A WICKED Sing-along will also be premiering from St Stephens Day onwards.

Part 2 of Wicked will be premiering in November 2025.

  • MUFASA: The Lion King 

MUFASA: The Lion King will be premiering on December 20 and is a live action remake of the Lion King by Disney.

The origins of Simba's late father is explored as new details are uncovered about his past.

Beyonce and Seth Rogan are among the many voice actors in this upcoming family film.

  • Sonic the Hedgehog 3

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will be released on December 21st where Sonic takes the big screen for the third time to take on the infamous Shadow.

  • Lord of The Rings: The War of the Rohirrim
