One RTE Tommy Tiernan Show viewer wondered if the host was "sex mad" after the latest episode of the Navan native's chat show on Saturday night.

Tommy welcomed another three mystery guests to the hot seat, Irish paralympic cyclist and distance runner Peter Ryan, psychologist and Blizzards bassist Louize Carroll and punk poet John Cooper Clarke.

It was Tommy's interview with Peter that drew the most reaction online. Peter spoke about his blindness, telling Tommy that he couldn't see him but that he has peripheral vision. He also said he could put his nose to a mirror and still not be able to see his own face.

The chat was a hit with viewers who praised Tommy's warmth as host and also Peter's good humour and resilience in the face of adversity.

"Really enjoyed Peter Ryan on #tommytiernanshow tonight. Inspirational and a real Tipperary legend," one viewer wrote.

“What an articulate, intelligent young man. Knocking it out of the park… and a wicked sense of humour to boot,” another added.

However, there was one awkward moment when Tommy asked Peter if his disability affects his intimate relationships, prompting one viewer to post: "Why is Tommy so sex mad? He brings everything back to sex with all guests. He has a problem.”

Tommy also famously asked Amy Huberman about her sex life with husband Brian O'Driscoll when she appeared on the show in 2022.

The rest of Saturday night's show was a hit with viewers.

One described poet John Cooper Clarke as their "absolute favourite," while another said he was a bona fide lyrical genius” and “one of the most important living poets."

Psychologist and musician Louize Carroll was described as “insightful” as she spoke about mental health, particularly among kids and young people.
