RTE's Tommy Tiernan Show lost more than 100,000 viewers last weekend as the comedian welcomed the likes of Kerry football legend Kieran Donaghy to the stage.

According to figures released by RTE, 308,000 people tuned in for last Saturday night's installment of the popular chat show, down from the 416,000 people who tuned in the week before.

27,000 people caught up on the show on the RTE Player. The figures come amid a welcome upswing in viewers for Patrick Kielty and the RTE Late Late Show.

Donncha O'Callaghan, Tommy Bowe and Karl Mullan were among his guests on Friday night as 460,000 viewers tuned in to RTE One to watch live. That was a welcome boost of 80,000 viewers compared to the Friday before.

RTE bosses described it as a "bumper weekend for entertainment" as the Dublin St Patrick's Day parade drew a viewing audience of 327,000.

The biggest show on the station over the weekend was undoubtedly the Dancing With The Stars finale which saw over 520,000 people tune in to watch Irish paralympian Jason Smyth and Karen Byrne lift the glitterball trophy. The show also featured former stars like Marty Morrissey and Brian Dowling in a Riverdance special performance.
