Irish shoppers baffled as Easter eggs replace selection boxes for sale in supermarkets
Christmas and New Years are only just behind us and for most, the thought of eating more chocolate is out of the question as the first month of the year brings with it green smoothies, detoxes and usually diet-centred resolutions.
But Irish supermarkets have a different approach.
Easter eggs have been spotted in supermarkets already with retail giants trying to get ahead of the curve and remind its shoppers that even though Easter is not for another three months (give or take), they should get back in the shops and spend more money on chocolate.
One X user took to the social media platform on December 29, three days before New Years Eve to show the all important eggs on the supermarket shelf with the caption "A new record?".

One user replied that a supermarket in Swords in Dublin has had them on the shelves since Christmas Eve.
