Memories – 40 Years Ago – Children go on school rampage

CITY SCHOOL

AN EIGHT year-old girl and a six year-old boy who broke into St Kieran’s C.B.S., Galvone, Limerick, seriously damaged four classrooms.

Father Brett, headmaster of the school, said that the broken windows would cost £49 to repair.

He disclosed that copybooks, paints and other school items were thrown about the rooms and the teachers’ desks were overturned and broken open with rocks. The culprits were seen while in the fourth classroom, and were sent home after the damage was done.
