Disappointed underbidders at auction still in the market for land - Limerick auctioneer

GVM’s Tom Crosse sold 38 acres at Mount Nagle, Mallow with a derelict house for €480,000

GVM’S John O’Connell reports that he has disappointed underbidders seeking land all over County Limerick after selling a farm in Pallaskenry.

A 33 acre holding at Moig, Pallaskenry sold in two lots at a combined figure of €350,000. It was described as rough grazing land.

Mr O’Connell was delighted with the figure achieved for the vendors. He said he has disappointed underbidders seeking good quality holding all over County Limerick.

GVM colleague Tom Crosse is perhaps even more delighted after he sold a farm as it is his second “result” thanks to Cork.

In the days before the All-Ireland final, the Tipperary native sold a farm of land in north Cork.

Mr Crosse described the 38 acres at Mount Nagle, Mallow as “medium quality land”.

“The roadside holding also contained an old derelict house. Four bidders participated in a lively affair. Bidding opened at 350,000.

“The property was placed on the market at €475,000. A final bid of €480,000 won the day,” said Mr Crosse.

It is understood that the new owners are local professionals who intend on renovating the house. The underbidders are believed to be local farmers.

The auctioneer was celebrating again a few days after his second “result” thanks to the Rebel County.
