MEMBERS of the Criminal Assets Bureau have raided accountants, solicitors and offices in Limerick city in an investigation into a man suspected to be linked to a drugs gang.
It was confirmed this Thursday evening by a security source that CAB officers made the raids over a 24-hour period throughout the city.
The man, who owns property in Limerick and Tipperary has been the target of gardaí in previous operations and has recently come to the attention of the CAB. He is a 53-year-old man who is a well-established farmer based in the Mid-West region and is connected to at least one of the city’s criminal gangs.
A solicitor’s office in the city centre was targeted by the CAB on Thursday, and O’Connell Street accountant’s premises, and a number of offices.
