SHERLOCK Holmes and his sidekick Dr Watson will investigate all manner of goings on in a revamped Snow White this Christmas.

The John Finn penned script for the fairytale will feature the crime fighting duo, as the much loved Limerick Panto Society returns to the stage this Christmas with the much loved story.

The society – in existence since 1985 – launched its 32nd annual production in the Limerick City Hotel last week, which will take to the Lime Tree Theatre stage for a run that starts on December 28.

RTE star Emma O’Driscoll returns to star as Snow White this Christmas, after a star turn as Goldilocks in last year’s Limerick Panto Society show.

Joining the kids’ tv presenter are Tim Cusack as the Dame – the baddie this year, he tells us – John Finn as Holmes and Stuart Mackey as his sidekick.

Also featuring are Laura Hunt as The Mirror – central to the plot – Damian Shaw as the King, Snow White’s father, Keith McGuane as the hapless Sir Cecil Grange, enlisted to protect her, Paul O’Farrell making his panto debut as Prince Charming, Issey Fenton as Cookie, Yasmin McGarvey as Cheryl and Shauna O’Halloran as Chantelle.

Spotlight Stage School and Expressive Arts will also feature, with Tony Cusack leading the production team for the panto, which runs until January 8, with shows times varying from noon, 4pm and 7.30pm over selected days. As ever, the show is in association with the Crescent Shopping Centre.
