Limerick school blooms with community spirit following their planting of over 1,000 daffodil bulbs
Coláiste Chiaráin, Croom, is set to welcome a brighter and more colourful spring following the planting of over 1,000 daffodil bulbs on the school grounds, in an initiative celebrating community spirit and environmental awareness.
The project will bring a vibrant display of yellow daffodils to the school in the coming spring, creating a more colourful and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors to enjoy.
It also highlights the positive and sustainable impact that community partnerships can have.
Gerard O’Sullivan, school principal, expressed his sincere gratitude to Ger Lynch of Tallybrooke Civil Engineering, who also serves as community chair of Limerick Central Rotary Club, for his generosity, support and commitment in bringing the initiative to fruition.
Mr O’Sullivan also acknowledged the ongoing support and engagement of Limerick Central Rotary Club, which has worked with the school on numerous initiatives over the years, demonstrating its continued commitment to supporting the school and lasting community initiatives.
He said: “We are extremely grateful to Ger Lynch of Tallybrooke Civil Engineering for his generosity and commitment to this wonderful initiative.
“His support has helped us enhance our school grounds and create something that our students, staff and wider school community can enjoy for years to come.
“We would also like to sincerely thank Limerick Central Rotary Club for its continued support and engagement. Initiatives such as this demonstrate the real value of community partnership and the difference that can be made when people give their time, resources and support to benefit others.
“We look forward to seeing the daffodils bloom in the spring and bring a warm welcoming splash of colour to our school. This is another wonderful addition to our school campus following our successful planting of over 5,000 native Irish trees and school orchard”.
Ger Lynch welcomed the opportunity to support the school and contribute to a project with a lasting local benefit.
He said: “It is always a pleasure to work with Coláiste Chiaráin and be involved in a project that will bring such colour and life to the school grounds.
“Planting over 1,000 daffodil bulbs is a simple but meaningful way to make a positive contribution to the school community and local environment.”
“I would also like to acknowledge Limerick Central Rotary Club for all its wonderful work. When the daffodils bloom in the spring, they will be a reminder of what can be achieved when community partners come together,” Ger continued.
The planting initiative reflects the importance of creating welcoming, sustainable environments which people can enjoy for years to come.
The daffodils will provide a lasting reminder of the generosity and community spirit that made the project possible.
