EIGHT points from Niamh Mulcahy helped the Limerick camogie team to a 1-11 to 0-9 win over Cork in the opening round of Division 1 camogie league on Sunday.
Played in Rathkeale, Limerick, under new manager John Tuohy, were 0-7 to 0-3 up at half time and a second half goal from Na Piarsaigh’s Sinead McNamara was the crucial goal as they got their season off to a winning start.
Limerick’s win capped a good weekend for the county’s camogie teams as the minors had a very impressive 3-12 to 2-5 win away to Wexford on Saturday in the All Ireland minor championship.
