Rathkeale’s vision for a brighter, more connected future was brought to life not just by local leaders and community groups, but also by the youngest voices in the town, as pupils from St Joseph’s National School shared their ideas for the Rathkeale Town Centre First Plan.
Charlie, a 6th-class student, Sean from 5th class, and Stephen from 2nd class took part in the launch morning, offering their suggestions for how the town centre could become a safer, more welcoming place for families.

The pupils highlighted the importance of better pedestrian links, more green spaces where children can play, safer crossings, and creating places that encourage people to meet, walk and cycle.
The presence of the pupils added a sense of optimism and community spirit to the morning’s launch, reinforcing the message that the Town Centre First Plan is not only about buildings and streets, but about the future generation who will live, learn and grow in Rathkeale.
