Early birds urged to sign up for Great Limerick Run

DISCOUNTED EARLY BIRD registration for the Bon Secours Hospital Great Limerick Run closes at midnight this Friday.

From the inaugural race in 2010, more than 70,000 people have crossed the finish line, raising €2.1 million for various charities and contributing €25 million to local and regional business.

With events including both the Marathon and the half marathon taking place across Saturday and Sunday May 5 and 6, the weekend is now the largest mass participatory event outside of Dublin.

This year’s ‘UL Sport Run for Fun’ is also set to become the largest children’s event nationally, with 3,500 children expected to take part.

Participants can “run, walk or crawl” each race in aid of charities including Milford Hospice, Pieta House, the Irish Cancer Society and Focus Ireland.
