WATCH: Monaleen captain Luke Murphy to his side's victory over Newcastle West in Limerick SHC

Monaleen ran out 1-18 to 0-19 winners in Rathkeale on Thursday evening

MONALEEN made it four wins from four games in Group 2 of the Whitebox Limerick senior hurling championship after seeing off Newcastle West in Rathkeale on Thursday evening.

Eoin Brislane's side edged out Newcastle West on a scoreline of 1-18 to 0-19 points, a win that secures the city based side a safe passage into the quarter-finals of this year's Limerick SHC.

The result leaves Newcastle West on three points, with the west Limerick side having drawn their first three championships matches. 

After the match, Leader Sports' Oisín Nolan caught up with Monaleen hurling captain Luke Murphy.
