The late Scarlett Faulkner will be laid to rest in Meelick Cemetery
THE FAULKNER family have announced the funeral arrangements for their "beautiful angel" Scarlett, on social media.
The 29-year-old mum-of-one from Longpavement, Limerick city, passed away three weeks after sustaining serious head injuries in an assault on a roadside in Birdhill.
The decision was made on Sunday to take her off a life support machine in Cork University Hospital. Scarlett passed away peacefully on Monday surrounded by her loving family who had maintained a bedside vigil.
Speaking on RTÉ Radio One this Tuesday, Fr Pat Hogan said the Faulkner family are “deeply upset.”
“They want to just lay her to rest in peace and with dignity so this is their hope,” said Fr Hogan, who was with the Faulkner family on Monday night.
Fr Hogan, of Moyross parish and chaplain to the Traveller community, said the family have great memories of mum-of-one Scarlett, aged 29.
“They want to remember her in peace, and they want to kind of maybe separate her from the violence that happened to her.”
Scarlett will repose at Cross’s Funeral Home, Lower Gerald Griffin Street, Limerick city on Thursday, April 16 from 2pm to 4pm.
Her funeral Mass will take place on Friday at 11am in St Munchin’s Church, Clancy Strand. Scarlett will be laid to rest in Meelick Cemetery following the Mass.

Scarlett's sister Victoria has paid an emotional tribute to the young Limerick mother, saying that she doesn't know how she will live without her.
Taking to social media, Victoria Faulkner described Scarlett as her “best friend and big sister”.
“I'll cherish our memories forever. My last hug and kiss off you. I promise you sister I'll bring Oceanna (Scarlett’s daughter) to see you everyday. I'll do everything for her just like you'd want,” said Victoria.
“I love you with all my heart and soul. I can't explain the way I feel right now knowing I'll never see you walk in the door to me and sit down... I miss you every minute of the day, you will always be my best friend and big sister.
"My heart is broke in one million pieces. How will I ever say goodbye to you.”
Victoria also shared an emotive photo of her clutching Scarlett's hand.
A woman and a 16-year-old girl have appeared in court - on separate dates in Limerick and in Thurles - in connection with the serious assault of Scarlett.
Scarlett was allegedly struck 11 times with an iron bar at the side of the R494 road in Birdhill on March 21.
