THOUSANDS of people have descended on Limerick city for the Regeneron Great Limerick Run which is taking place this Sunday.
In addition to those taking part in the event, large crowds have also lined parts of the route to offer their support and to cheer on the participants.
Among them were Limerick Leader/Limerick Live reporters Meghann Scully and Cathal Doherty who spoke to participants at the finishing line.
The full marathon began at 9am, the half-marathon at 10.30am and the 6-mile race at 12.30pm.
