SOCIAL Democrats councillor Elisa O'Donovan thanked the people of Limerick for such a strong vote after she was eliminated on the 15th and final count in Limerick.
She lost out to Labour's Conor Sheehan who took the final seat by a margin of 598 votes.
Prior to the result, Cllr O'Donovan said: "I’m so glad that we’re in this battle together, because we’ve been in the council together for the last five years.
"I couldn’t think of a better person to be battling it out with than Conor, because I really massively respect him."
