Team Limerick Clean-Up releases new video and website to mark 10-year celebration

AS PART of its 10-year celebration, Team Limerick Clean-Up (TLC) has released a video, 'Make It Better,' celebrating Limerick and its people.

Participants were asked about what Limerick means to them and what they love most about being from Limerick. Familiar faces include Cian Lynch, John Kiely, Róisín Ní Ríain, Paul O’Connell and Barry Murphy. The video name takes inspiration from its featured song, 'Make it Better' by Limerick band Hermitage Green, and is available to watch on YouTube.

Along with this video, TLC has launched a new, rebranded website, making volunteer registration quicker and easier than ever before. 

Registration is now open for the tenth edition of Ireland’s largest one-day clean-up, Team Limerick Clean-Up (TLC), taking place this Good Friday, April 18, across Limerick city and county. Deadline for registration is strictly Monday, March 31 for schools and businesses and Monday, April 7 for volunteer groups. 

Speaking about the launch, TLC co-founders JP McManus, Helen O’Donnell and Paul O’Connell said:

“We are so excited to be approaching a decade of Team Limerick Clean-Up. TLC is a great day for people across Limerick to get out, meet their neighbours, and make new connections in their communities. What makes TLC really special is the cup of tea and chat that follows when all the hard work is done. 

"The popularity of TLC has soared over the last ten years, and we are hoping for our biggest number of volunteers to date for our 10-year celebration. We can’t wait to see some new and old faces get involved in TLC10.” 

Limerick Senior Hurling Captain, Cian Lynch added: “Team Limerick Clean-Up is great craic, and it’s a way of meeting people you might not have seen in a while. I would advise everyone to get involved!”

Volunteers, businesses, schools, and sports clubs across Limerick are being encouraged to do their bit to keep Limerick clean and tidy on Good Friday. Register now here. 

Team Limerick Clean-Up (TLC) was founded in 2015 by JP McManus, Helen O’Donnell, and Paul O’Connell with an aim to foster and build relationships with the community, instil a sense of pride in the people of Limerick and protect the environment. 

Sponsored by the JP McManus Benevolent Fund and supported by Limerick City and County Council, TLC last year saw 57 tonnes of litter collected, which is equivalent to approx. 2,300 household wheelie bins of rubbish.
