Permission sought for 'glamping' site as Limerick gears up for Ryder Cup

Unofficial glamping site to offer short-stay accommodation for huge tournament

PLANNING permission has been sought for a major new glamping site on the doorstep of Adare Manor for next year’s Ryder Cup.
Pamper the Camper have sought permission to develop on land at Murphy’s Cross, which they advertise as a 10-minute walk from the village of Adare.
The proposed development, if granted, will see 278 overnight accommodation units across two sites.
One site will see space for 99 tent pitches, and 77 glamping units.
The second area will provide spots for 102 campervan spaces.
Also planned for the first site is a VIP bar and lounge, a wellness area and picnic space.
The second parcel of land will provide space for around 560 vehicles, documents presented to Limerick’s planning authority reveal.
Seeking permission for the development is Pamper the Camper, a camping supply business catering to those attending events like the Electric Picnic festival.
Developers have stated the site will be set up three weeks before the Ryder Cup tournament in September 2027 and will then operate for a period of 10 days during the Ryder Cup event itself.
Customers of this site will be shuttled by bus to Adare Manor.
This development is separate to the official Ryder Cup glamping site, located in the Mountwilliam area of Adare.
Council has requested Pamper the Camper resubmit its planning application, after identifying missing pieces of information.
